Volunteers set up food distribution center

MUNCIE, Ind.(NewsLink) -- Clifton Wallace Park is where a low-income neighborhood is located and on every Tuesday from 1:30-2:30 a food distribution is held to help those families in need.

A helper who comes out every week, Susan Dillion, said, “So this food distribution here is actually a ministry of the Commonway Church that has been doing this distribution since about the beginning of COVID.”

People were lined up about an hour before the truck was supposed to arrive to make sure they got enough food for their family because in the past weeks they have run out of food in about 30 to 45 minutes.

“One of the most rewarding things is to see people that we’ve helped and when they get to a situation where they no longer need the help they’re actually turning around and paying forward and that's what makes it all worth the while,” Dillion said.
