Ball State track team sets new records

MUNCIE, Ind (NewsLink) — With the new track season here, Ball State track athletes are already setting new records.

While at the Gladstein Invitational, their latest meet, three Ball State athletes set new personal records. Senior Amber Jones and Junior MaQuila Norman both set new personal records for themselves in the 200 meter dash. Jones clocked in with a time of 24.65 seconds while Norman came in with a time of 24.88 seconds.

Norman said that both her and Jones could go very far in the NCAA Championship.

While Norman and Jones are keeping the running events under control, Freshman Charity Griffith is holding her own in field events. She achieved a personal record in high jump at 5 feet 3 inches. She said one of her biggest challenges transitioning from high school to college track was learning her technique all over again.
