Minnetrista set to open new Bob Ross experience

MUNCIE, Ind. (Newslink) -  Bob Ross fans be warned, Minnestrista is renovating the Lucious L. Ball home where Ross filmed his famous program, The Joy of Painting.

The renovation is set to remodel the first floor after Ross’ original art studios he had in the home.

Along with this, the home is to include an interactive painting space as well as areas to show pieces of art and artifacts of Ross’.

Katy Maggart, Minnestrista marketing manager, expressed how the home will serve as a learning center and is affordable for all.“It will be free for [Minnetrista] members and only $5 for nonmembers,” Maggart said.“The home will be set up exactly as how Bob had it, or at least where he filmed his show,” Maggart said, “However the upstairs will not be a part of the experience at the moment, there are offices up there, but who knows what can happen in the future.”

Minnetrista has been raising funds for the renovation and for the overall project for over a month now. This includes selling ‘Bob Ross’ apparel, keep sakes, and much more.

The last day to help with funds is Nov.5, and more information on how to help can be found on Minnetrista's Facebook page.

The new experience will open October 2020, in celebration of the late Ross’ birthday, which is Oct. 29.
