MUNCIE, Ind. (NewsLink) — As the Indiana High School basketball season begins to ramp up, teams across the state are beginning tryouts and workouts in preparation for competition. Wapahani is no exception as their workouts are already underway.

After a 17-7 finish to the season last year, the Raiders look to achieve further success behind their two leading scorers from last year, Seniors Drew Luce and Tre Spence.

Spence said his main focus is to continue to get stronger and let that show on the court. In Luce’s case, he said he is trying to do the same and is looking forward to playing with teammates he has shared the court with for quite some time.

“I’ve been playing with these guys since second grade, it’s gonna be really fun this year,” said Luce.

Head coach Matt Luce believes that the chemistry off the court is just as important as the success on the court.

“We’re just trying to set a culture,” said the coach.

Expectations are high according to Drew Luce as he believes the team can win sectionals this year.

Wapahani’s first official practice will begin Nov. 11 and they will begin their season on Nov. 26 at Southwood.
