Early MAC test against Bowling Green sets Cardinals back, 3-0
For the first time since October of 2004, Bowling Green(4-3-2 MAC 2-0) defeats Ball State (5-2-1 MAC 1-1-0), 3-0.
Bowling Green junior midfielder, Chelsee Washington scored an early brace against the Cardinal’s. The Falcon’s established a strong rhythm in the first half that the Cardinal’s had trouble coping with.
"We made a mistake early that hurt us, but hopefully we can learn from this and regroup," Head coach Craig Roberts said.
Senior midfielder Lauren Roll and senior forward Allison Abbe led the line for the Cardinals with two shots each, while senior foward Amanda Shaw and junior midfielder Julia Elvbo each had a shot on target.
Under Coach Fannon, Bowling Green is a perfect 16-0-0 when scoring at least two goals. Despite conceding three goals, senior goalkeeper, Tristin Stuteville had four saves.
Senior forward Erica Huberts of the Falcon’s finished off the Cardinals from a goal on top of the box in the 85th minute.
Ball State continues to focus on the MAC as they travel to Kent State this Friday for another tough conference test.
