University Program Board announces Friday Night Filmworks fall lineup

University Program Board's Friday Night Filmworks fall schedule listed to show at Pruis Hall at 9 p.m. 

The University Program Board will kick off their fall 2018 Friday Night Filmworks the first Friday of classes, Aug. 24. 

All movies are free for students and guests are permitted, but they must be ages 16 and older and pay $1. Showings begin at 9 p.m. and last until the film is over. All films will be held Pruis Hall with the exception of Aug. 24. 

Here is a list of the movies coming to campus this semester:

“Avengers: Infinity War”

Aug. 24

In this Avengers film, the group and their allies must defeat Thanos before he collects all six Infinity Stones and completes the infamous Infinity Gauntlet. Iron Man, Captain America, the Hulk and others must put aside their differences and team up to ensure the human race’s safety. 

“Ocean’s 8”

Aug. 31

Debbie Ocean, the sister of Danny Ocean, has been planning a robbery for five years, eight months and 12 days. Together, she and her best friend Lou Miller target a necklace worth more than $150 million with the help of a jeweler, street con, suburban mom, hacker and fashion designer. 

“Solo: A Star Wars Story”

Sept. 7

This prequel in the Star Wars series tells the story of how Han Solo became infamous throughout the galaxy, met his sidekick and began his adventures piloting the Millennium Falcon. Meet young Lando Calrissian, played by Donald Glover, and other iconic Star Wars characters in the most recent installment of the series which started in 1977. 

“Tag”

Sept. 14

This movie follows a group of five friends as they continue a game of tag that began during their high school years.  Throughout the movie, the group endlessly risks their jobs and relationships to win until the game interferes with the wedding of the only untagged member. From there, it’s four against one in an all-out war. 

“Incredibles 2”

Sept. 21

After 14 years, “Incredibles 2” brings viewers more insight into the lives of superheroes Helen, Bob, Violet, Dash and Jack-Jack Parr. While the family wants to be normal, they face a tough transition and are all unaware of Jack-Jack’s rapidly-developing powers. 

This film will be shown during Family Weekend, and guests of all ages are welcome for free. 

“Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom”

September 28

Owen Grady and Claire Dearing must return to Isla Nublar three years after the destruction of the theme park, Jurassic World, in order to save the remaining dinosaurs from an erupting volcano. What they don’t realize is new breeds of dinosaurs have formed, and the man funding the mission to save these creatures has ulterior, profit-driven motives. 

“The Spy Who Dumped Me”

Oct. 5

Audrey and Morgan have been best friends since high school, so when one of them discovers  her ex-boyfriend was actually a spy, the other helps find out the truth behind the breakup. Together, the two become wrapped up in an international conspiracy. 

“Ant-Man and The Wasp”

Oct. 12

After giving up being a superhero, Scott Lang faces the consequences from his choices in previous movies as a superhero and a father. Sooner than he would like, however, Lang is approached by Hope van Dyne and Dr. Hank Pym and asked to return as Ant-Man to fight beside the Wasp.
