In a rivalry meet, Ball State men’s swim and dive came up short against Evansville, losing 180-117 on Saturday afternoon.

“Our top performer was [sophomore] Ben Andrew,” Thomas said. “He won the 50-yard freestyle, 100-yard butterfly and placed second in the 400-yard individual medely. Then, Zach Reichle got his first collegiate win ever in the 100-yard breaststroke. That was great to see.”

Freshman Drew Weeks placed second in the 200-yard freestyle, putting together a season-best time of 1:45.85.

Freshman Sean Wolfe was able to continue his winning-streak on three-meter diving. Wolfe beat out senior Cory Barnes by 5.10 points. Also in one-meter diving, junior Gabe Dean scored a season-best score of 225.22 points.

Head diving coach Nick Gayes said both of his divers dove well against comparable divers in the Mid-American Conference.

“We definitely left some points out there today,” Gayes said. “But we are continuing to progress and make strides toward where we want to become in [the conference].”

Gayes said that one of the dives that stood out for Wolfe today was his back twisters.

“Sean was relatively consistent today,” Gayes said. “He had some good back twisters.”

Ball State will be back in action on Feb. 3 when it will travels to Notre Dame.
