Ball State senior defensive lineman Anthony Winbush is Ball State's lone inclusion on the All-MAC first team, the conference announced Wednesday morning.
Winbush recorded 11.5 sacks on the season, good for fourth best in the country and led the FBS with five forced fumbles in 2017. Winbush also racked up 16.5 tackles for a loss.
Winbush also finished with 25 career sacks at Ball State, tying the school's all-time career record.
Freshman wide receiver Justin Hall made the All-MAC second team, becoming the first Ball State freshman selection on the All-MAC first or second teams since 2005.
Hall led the country among freshman wideouts with 78 catches and was second nationally with 801 receiving yards.
Senior offensive lineman Vinnie Palazeti and freshman kick returner Malik Dunner were both All-MAC third team selections.
Palazeti started at three different positions for Ball State in 2017 and helped mentor a young offensive line that was decimated by injuries throughout the season. Palazeti made 28 career starts for the Cardinals.
Dunner averaged 24.4 yards per kick return on the season, which was second-best in the conference. He also returned a kickoff for a touchdown in the third quarter of Ball State's 51-31 victory over now bowl-eligible UAB on Sept. 9.
