Ball State soccer’s Lauren Roll has been named a finalist for the Women’s Soccer HERO of the Week, an award voted on by fans to recognize the best performances of the week in NCAA sports.

Roll scored a goal in the 28th minute of Ball State’s 2-1 victory over Northern Illinois in the Mid-American Conference Tournament quarterfinals Sunday. It was her fourth goal of the season, tying her for second-most on the team.

Roll’s goal helped propel the Cardinals to their first semifinals appearance since 2014, where they will play Toledo Friday at 4 p.m. in Kent, Ohio.

Just one one of 10 student athletes nominated for this week's D1 Women's Soccer award, Roll will find out the winner when they are announced Friday afternoon.

Fans can vote once per hour until Friday at 3 p.m.
