Air Jam's New Lottery Drawing

Homecoming’s most popular event, Air Jam, a lip-syncing competition, is making some major changes behind the scenes.

According to Air Jam Chair Alexis Williams, only 20 student organizations can participate.

In the past, at the end of the royalty fashion show, students would quickly line up outside of the Emens box office to get a spot in the show.

“It got a little bit dangerous last year. It was raining and there was a couple of scares and violence so Emens decided to cut off all camping out,” Williams said.

The Air Jam committee decided that this year the student organizations would have to enter into a raffle, and the first 20 picked would be in the show. Needless to say, many hopeful-participants were upset.

“I am not a fan of the lottery drawing,” said Lauren French, Rhythms Dance Troupe president .

But lucky for people like French, only 19 forms were submitted, meaning all groups will be apart of the show.

The Air Jam performance will take place in the Emens Auditorium on October 19th.
