Only one goal was needed to decide the outcome of today's soccer match between Ball State and Baylor, as the Bears walked away with the 1-0 victory over the Cardinals.

With only one combined shot midway through the first half, the game remained scoreless until the 78th minute of play when Baylor forward Jackie Crowther put the ball to the net.

At the half, Baylor had leads on shots (9-0) and corners (3-0).

In a heavy possession game, senior goal keeper Alyssa Heintschel recorded six saves for the Cardinals, compared to the Bear's one.

Heintschel and the rest of the Ball State defense held their own against a stifling Baylor defense.

The Cardinals are now 1-4-1 after falling to a pair of Big 12 opponents in TCU and Baylor this weekend. With another strong defensive performance, Baylor remains undefeated at 4-0-1.

Ball State will be back in Indiana next week as they take a short trip to IUPUI on Friday for a 7 p.m. kickoff.
