At 1:20 p.m. the Ball State office of information security services sent out an email warning students, faculty and staff to be aware of possible scams posing as relief efforts for Texas residents affected by Hurricane Harvey.

The email warned campus to be especially mindful of phone calls, texts or emails soliciting funds.

The office recommends those wishing to donate use trusted and well-established organization websites to make any donations.
