Turns out, pizza really is a hot commodity in Muncie.

The victim, HotBox Pizza, filed a police report for a theft of food delivered to a Muncie resident on Aug. 23.

According to the police report, an order was called in to the restaurant on Aug. 22 for delivery totaling $20.92. While on the phone, the suspect claimed to have a certificate for free food.

The food was delivered to the residence on Everbrook Lane, and when asked for the certificate, the suspect admitted they lied. The suspect also refused to pay for the food.

When the owner called the suspect and explained the food was not free, the suspect hung up.

It's unknown whether or not the pizza was actually consumed.
