Two coaches abstained from voting for first place

Ball State was picked to finish 10th in the Mid-American Conference according to the cross country preseason polls released on Aug. 30.

The preseason men's and women's polls are voted on by the conference head coaches. Eastern Michigan was picked to finish first among the women's teams, receiving nine of the first place votes.

Ball State enters this season with a new distance specialist coach in Anna Farello, who reached NCAA Nationals in cross country.

Ball State begins its cross country season on Sept. 1 at the Butler Open in Carmel, Indiana.
