On campus with nothing to do? Here are seven events at Minnetrista from now to September.

Picnic & Pops with Muncie Symphony Orchestra

WHEN: Aug. 24 at 7 p.m.

On Minnetrista’s East Lawn, the Minnetrista Summer Stage Fest will be closing out the summer's Picnic & Pops with the Muncie Symphony Orchestra for “Back to School, Indiana Style.” Minnetrista encourages bringing a blanket or chairs, picnics and lawn games while enjoying the concert. 

Farmers Market

WHEN: From 8 a.m. to noon every Saturday.

Local vendors sell fresh produce and plants at the outdoor Farmers Market. 

Flags of Honor

WHEN: Display from Sept. 4 to 11. Closing ceremony at 6 p.m. Sept. 11.

To honor fallen heroes, veterans and those who are currently serving in the Armed Forces, Minnetrista will display an array of more than 1,000 American flags. The flags have been sponsored by community members, and additional flags can be sponsored for $30 by visiting Minnetrista’s website

Glass Workshop: Mosaic Plaque

WHEN: From 6 to 9 p.m. on Sept. 6 and from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Sept. 7.

Sept. 4 is the registration deadline to participate in the two-day "Glass Workshop: Mosaic Plaque."  For $40, participants can learn to grind and grout a mosaic.

Senior Free-Admission Day: Oakhurst Home

WHEN: On Sept. 20, there will be programs at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. for Senior Free-Admission day, which includes those 60 years and older.

After Hours 

WHEN: From 6 to 8:30 p.m. on Sept. 22.

After Hours is a 21 and older event sponsored by The Star Press. The event allows visitors to enjoy drinks with friends. For updates on After Hours, follow Minnetrista on social media.

Canning Workshop: Chili

WHEN: From 10 a.m. to noon on Sept. 23.

At the chili canning workshop, participants will learn to make their own chili for just $20 under the guidance of cooking professionals.
