Ball State has agreed to play Georgia Southern for the first time in 2022 and 2023.

First, the Cardinals will travel to Allen E. Paulson Stadium in Statesboro, Georgia, on Sept. 24, 2022, followed by the Eagles traveling to Scheumann Stadium in Muncie on Sept. 23, 2023.

Georgia Southern enters its fourth year as a Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) team after having a historically successful run at the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) level.

In the past three seasons, the Eagles are 18-6 (.750) against conference opponents and 23-14 overall. In just it's first year in the Sun Belt, Georgia Southern won the conference title and made the GoDaddy Bowl, the same bowl Ball State made the year before, the following year defeating Mid-American Conference foe Bowling Green.

Ball State football begins its 2017 season against Illinois on Sept. 2, followed by its first home game on Sept. 9 against UAB.
