Purchasing Services has started the tagging process for abandoned bikes on campus.

Bikes that are classified as abandoned are considered to be unusable and are defined as having but not limited to; rust, bent frames, flat tires, or any missing parts that make it unusable, according to a university-wide email.

If a bike is left in the same location over a specified time period, it runs the risk of also being tagged as abandoned.

The removal of bikes marked as abandoned will start May 26. Any bike that is collected will be stored for six months.

If a bike is removed because it was abandoned and needs to be reclaimed, contact Anna Arison, assistant director of purchasing, at 765-285-1803 for more information.
