The Ball State gymnastics team took the floor in their final home meet of the season against Western Michigan. While the team lost the meet 195.200-194.750, the night was highlighted by many individual records and a school record that were broken.

The floor event is where the team shined, as the school-record score for the floor event was broken with a combined score of 49.500. Senior Kayla Beckler and sophomores Sydney Finke and Kaitlyn Menzione all tied for first with a score of 9.925. Seniors Sarah Ebeyer and Shelby Arms tied their personal career highs with scores of 9.875 and 9.850. Junior Claire Collins also finished with a personal best of 9.850.

Other notable finishes of the night include a second place finish from freshman Bri Slonim with a score of 9.825 and a third place finish from junior Jordyn Penny with a score of 9.800 on vault. Penny and sophomore Maddie Howell tied for second with a score of 9.875. Howell had a career-high performance on the bars in her first competitive routine of the year. On beam, junior Jackie Duffy took second place with a personal best score of 9.850 and Slonim placed third with a score of 9.825.

The Cardinals will meet the Broncos and the University of Illinois-Chicago at 7 p.m. Tuesday in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
