Ball State men's tennis hosts Mid-American Conference foe Northern Illinois Saturday.

Last season, the Cardinals and Huskies split their two matches, with each team winning 4-3.

Seniors Andrew Stutz and Lucas Andersen were named the MAC Doubles Team of the Week for their performance against Toledo and Western Michigan. Stutz said it was an honor to receive the doubles team of the week.

"Luke and I have been fortunate to have gotten a number of them during our career," said Stutz. "It does give you a bit of a confidence boost when you win doubles team or singles player of the week."

The Cardinals (9-8, 1-1 MAC) come into the match after losing to Butler on Wednesday. Ball State head coach Bill Richards said they got some tough breaks.

"That certainly was a factor for us losing in singles," said Richards.  "But our guys fought hard and we had opportunities to win the match."

The Huskies (12-7, 1-1 MAC) come into this match after a win over Binghamton a loss to Buffalo, respectively.

The matches start 2 p.m. Saturday at Cardinal Creek Tennis Center.
