Ball State men’s swim and dive defeated Evansville at Lewellen Aquatic Center Jan. 28 by a score of 153-81.
Head coach Bob Thomas said he was very pleased with the win.
“We do not get them very often, so when we do we capitalize on it,” Thomas said. “I thought the guys did an outstanding job.”
The tone of the meet was set early on in the 200-yard medley relay. The team finished first and second. The A-relay team consisted of freshman Ben Andrew, sophomore Cullen Tyler, seniors Bradley Ridge and Austin Green.
In the 100-yard freestyle, junior Banistre Lienhart edged out an Evansville swimmer by .39 tenths of a second. Lienhart said he was really hyped up from his win in the 200-yard freestyle.
“I was excited what I could do in this event,” Lienhart said. “I knew Austin was going to put up a fast time, seeing that I just edged him out was great.”
