Finding Dory

When - Friday, September 23

Where - Scheumann Stadium

Start Time - immediately following Ball State soccer vs. Buffalo, which starts at 5 p.m. at the Briner Sports Complex

Following the soccer game against Buffalo Sept. 23, Ball State fans will just keep swimming to Scheumann Stadium for a screening of "Finding Dory."

Shawn Sullivan, assistant athletics director for marketing and fan engagement, said that the athletics department has been looking to tie in more promotions such as this to some of the sports that don’t get as much attention.

“We’ve been working on sports that don’t get as much marketing as say football or men’s basketball,” Sullivan said. “Women’s soccer is coming off of a great season, so we figured it’d be a great way to increase their attendance by showing a movie after.”

Sullivan said it wasn't difficult to pick what would be shown on the big screen Friday evening.

“It hasn’t been released on DVD yet, so it gives more people a chance to see the movie that haven’t seen it yet,” Sullivan said. “Disney movies do a good job of targeting the young audience but also the older, college-aged students as well.”

This is not the first time that a movie has been shown at Scheumann Stadium. Last July, the Clydesdales of Anheuser-Busch visited Ball State for the Cards and Clydesdales Family Movie Night, during which "Remember the Titans" was shown.

The movie will begin immediately after the conclusion of Ball State’s soccer matchup against Buffalo at the Briner Sports Complex. Admission to both the game and movie is free.
