Brendan Surane wins MIVA Offensive Player of the Week

After recording 35 kills last week, junior outside attacker Brendan Surane was named Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association's Offensive Player of the Week.

Surane led the Cardinals in kills during both of the team's games against IPFW and the University of California Irvine.

In his first match against in-state rival IPFW on March 16, Surane had 13 kills and three block assists along with five digs. Against UC Irvine, he led both teams and set a personal record with 22 kills in the five-set match.

This season, Surane leads the Cardinals with 205 total kills. He boasts a .220 attack percentage, 14 service aces, 83 digs and 49 total blocks.

Surane and the rest of the Ball State men's volleyball team will return to action on March 23 against No. 1 Ohio State.
