From 1946-94, Los Angeles had a football team, the Los Angeles Rams. After a 30-2 passed vote by National Football League team owners, the team will return to the Sunshine State in 2016.
On Jan. 12, 30 of the teams' 32 owners approved of the relocation, even though the proposal only required the approval of 24 of the teams' owners.
According to ESPN.com news services, the Rams also have the possibility of being joined by the San Diego Chargers who have until Jan. 16, 2017 to agree with the terms of the deal.
If the Chargers were to decline, there is another NFL team in the conversation for relocation, the Oakland Raiders. This former L.A. team will have a full year to decide if they will join the Rams in a new market.
Rams owner Stan Kroenke proposed to build a $1.86 billion stadium in Inglewood, sources told ESPN.
This has been the second time a football team has evacuated St. Louis, the last time was the St. Louis Cardinals in 1987, now known as the Arizona Cardinals.
