After going seven rounds without hearing his name called in the draft, Edwards signed an undrafted free agent contract with the San Diego Chargers.

“Jahwan is a great success story,” Ball State head coach Pete Lembo said in a statement. “For the past four years, he embraced the process, took advantage of opportunities and treated people the right way. Now, he has rewritten the record books, has his Ball State degree in hand and has a shot to play at the next level. We are very proud of him and wish him well moving forward.”

Edwards is Ball State's all-time leader in rushing attempts, rushing yards and total touchdowns.

He graduated spring 2015 with a degree in Sport Administration.
