Sophomore earns conference award

College Sports Madness announced Ball State outfielder Alex Call has been named the Madness Mid-American Baseball Player of the Week.

In four games, the sophomore hit .267 in 16 at bats with six RBIs. seven runs scored and three walks.

Ball State finished 4-0 last week, including a three-game sweep against Dayton in Ohio. 

Call has started all 18 games for the Cardinals, and his .368 batting average ranks second on the team. His 28 hits on the season is tied for 59th in the nation. 

College Sports Madness selects the award recipients based on the players deemed to have the greatest impact on their team from each conference and on a national basis each week.
