The Ball State women's tennis team bounced back from its loss on Jan. 24 to Wright State to defeat Youngstown State 4-3 at the Muncie YMCA on Sunday.
The Penguins won the doubles point with victories in two of the three matches, but the Cardinals captured four singles victories to win the match.
In doubles action, sophomores Rosalinda Calderon and Toni Ormond paired to defeat Victoria Ferry and Julianna Heino 6-3.
At No. 2 singles, junior Courtney Earnest picked up a win for the Cardinals. Ball State also got wins from senior Ashlyn Rang, Calderon and junior Bethany Moore.
With the victory, the Cardinals improve to 2-1 on the season. They will return to the court on Feb. 6, traveling to take on Xavier.
