Ball State defeats Wright State 7-0, wins 2nd straight overall

The Ball State men's tennis team picked up its second straight win on Sunday, a 7-0 road victory at Wright State. 

With the win, the Cardinals are within a game of .500 at 4-5 on the season.

Ball State captured the doubles point, winning all three matches. Senior Patrick Elliott and sophomore Andrew Stutz won a tight match at No. 1.

Senior Ray Leonard and freshman Collin Rigney won 6-1 at the No. 2 position, and sophomores Lucas Andersen and Matt Helm defeated Dan Gilbert and Myles Harris 6-2 at No. 3.

In singles play, Andersen and Leonard won at No. 1 and No. 2 singles, respectively. Elliott won 7-5, 7-5 at No. 3, while Stutz picked up a three-set victory at No. 5 over Simon Cote.

Rigney and freshman Jan Jirus also recorded wins for the Cardinals.

Ball State will return to the court on Feb. 27 with home matches against Anderson and Taylor University.
