According to the latest Ball State football depth chart, redshirt freshman Jack Milas has been named the starting quarterback, and former starter Ozzie Mann has been moved to third string.

"Going back to [Jack Milas'] freshman year on the scout team and in some of the scrimmages we had in the fall, you saw flashes of some of the playmaking ability, and doing some things on the fly that make you say 'Wow, there's some great potential there,'" Lembo said.

Ball State is 1-4 with Mann at quarterback, who has thrown six touchdowns and two interceptions this season, completing 57.1 percent of his passes for just under 200 yards per game.

Milas has yet to take a snap during a game, but competed with Mann, Kyle Kamman and David Morrison for the starting position in the spring. He was listed as third string before being promoted.

"We've got to give Jack the same kind of patience and support we gave Ozzie," Lembo said.

Ball State hosts Western Michigan at 3 p.m. on Saturday.
