Ball State men's basketball junior guard Jeremiah Davis is expected to miss eight to 10 weeks with a foot injury suffered in practice Tuesday. Davis will undergo surgery to repair the injured foot.

Davis transferred to Ball State following a short career at Cincinnati. He attended Muncie Central High School before going on to play at Huntington Prep (W. Va.).

“Jeremiah has had to deal with adversity recently, and this is another challenge," Ball State head basketball coach James Whitford said in a statement. "He is a very strong young man, and he will attack this injury the same way he does everything: with a positive attitude and determination. He will be back, and we will be even stronger as a team when he returns because of the experience our younger players will gain while he is out.”

Ball State opens its season on Nov. 14 at Utah.
