The Ball State’s men’s golf team opened its fall season Aug. 31 by competing in the Notre Dame Kickoff Challenge, a one-day, 36-hole tri-meet, at Warren Golf Course in South Bend, Ind.
Senior McCormick Clouser and redshirt junior Derek Kundenreich both tied for fifth place, finishing 2-over par on the par-71 layout. Kundenreich played as an individual.
Ball State placed third as a team overall, with a final of 586 (293-293). Notre Dame won the event shooting 7-under par 561, while IUPUI finished second, six strokes ahead of Ball State at 580.
