The Ball State women’s volleyball team lost to South Alabama 3-0 on Saturday, to close out the UniWyo Cowgirl Classic.

The loss drops Ball State to 3-3 on the year, and it is the first time the team has lost consecutive games this season.

Ball State struggled offensively for the second straight match, hitting only .129 on 31 kills as a team.

Redshirt junior Hayley Benson led the Cardinals in kills, with 17, but five Cardinals were held to negative hitting percentages.

Ball State will return to action at 5:30 p.m. on Sept. 12, when the team travel to Madison, Wisc., to compete in the HotelRED Invitational.
