BASKETBALL: Danny Peters added as men's assistant coach

The Ball State men’s basketball team has added a new assistant coach.

Danny Peters, former Arizona Wildcats’ assistant director of basketball operations, joins the team as the new assistant coach.

This marks the second assistant coach the Cardinals have added this offseason. Brian Thornton, former Winthrop assistant, joined coach James Whitford’s staff in May.

After graduating from Ohio State in 2010, Peters worked as a graduate assistant for the Wildcats before being promoted to assistant director of basketball operations.

During his time at Arizona, Peters met Whitford, who was as an assistant coach on the team.

His responsibilities at Arizona ranged from scouting opponents’ to breaking down game film. In addition to his game responsibilities, Peters was responsible for tracking the academic progress of Arizona’s players.
