WOMEN'S BASKETBALL: Win gives Ball State momentum

The Ball State women’s basketball team knocked off Northern Illinois 67-57.

It’s the Cardinals first home win since January 29.

In the first ten minutes of the first half, the women’s basketball team found themselves taking an early lead, up 14-10.

Shelbie Justice hit back-to-back three-pointers near the end of the first half to give Ball State momentum. Justice went on to hit 3 of her 5 three pointers.

Brittany Carter scored 23 total points with 6 assist and went 6 of 10 behind the three-point line.

The Cardinals went 11 of 26 in three-pointers with Jill Morrison going 2-of-7.

Ball State shot 22 of 48 from the floor for 45.8 percent.

The win gives the team a record of 13-15 and 8-9 in the Mid-American Conference.
