WOMEN’S TENNIS: Ball State to play in Ohio Valley Regional

After a two-week break, the Ball State women’s tennis team is back in action this weekend, as the squad travels down to the University of Memphis to participate in the ITA Ohio Valley Regional.

Tournament play will begin Oct. 18 and end on Oct. 22. Winners of the singles and doubles events from the regional will advance to play in the 2013 USTA/ITA National Intercollegiate Indoor Championships, which begins Nov. 7 in Flushing, New York.

The Cardinals will play for the first time since head coach Christine Bader announced her decision to resign at the end of the season as the women’s tennis coach and take a position with the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

The team’s next event after the ITA Ohio Valley Regional is Nov. 1. The Cardinals will travel to Cincinnati, Ohio, for the Cincinnati Fall Invite.
