CROSS COUNTRY: Ball State takes fifth in Jenna Strong Classic

The Ball State cross country team finished with one of its strongest races this season. The Cardinals took fifth place out of 34 other teams in the Jenna Strong Fall Classic, hosted by Wilmington College.

Together Ball State’s five scored runners posted a time of 19:16.25, earning them 170 points. Mid-American Conference rival Toledo took the top spot with a score of 82 and a time of 18:57.88.

Junior Courtney Edon was the first from Ball State to cross the finish line with a time of 18:40.28, landing her fourth overall. This gave Edon her first top five effort this season.

Right behind Edon was sophomore Danielle Dahl, who placed 30th with a time of 19:15.92.

Also rounding out the Ball State runners were Caitlynn Edon taking the 35th spot at 19:20.42, freshman Ericka Rinehart locking in at a time of 19:27.92 in 45th place and freshman Jordan Timmons in 56th with a time of 19:37.58.

The team will travel to Bowling Green, Ohio, to run in the 2013 MAC Championships at 11 a.m. Nov. 2.
