MEN'S GOLF: Schram becomes second player from Warsaw on team

The Daily News

After a successful regular season, the Ball State men’s golf team finished 30th out of 30 teams in the NCAA Championships.

Despite the loss in the spring, the team appears ready to pick up its clubs for another season of play.

Ball State will play its first tournament of the season starting Sept. 6., in the Northern Intercollegiate in Sugar Grove, Ill. The event will run through Sept. 8.

The only home meet for the team is the Earl Yestingsmeier Invitational on April 21 and 22 at the Delaware Country Club.

The Cardinals will have a difficult task replacing the likes of Joe Gasser, Tony Lazzara, Alex Stinson and Brodie Williams, who all graduated.

New to the program are Quentyn Carpenter, Keegan McKinney and Jon Schram, all freshmen.

Schram is from nearby Warsaw, Ind., and attended Warsaw Community High School. He is the second player on the team from Warsaw, as sophomore Tyler Ostrom is also from the small town northwest of Muncie.
