GYMNASTICS: Ball State finishes third in tri-meet

The Ball State gymnastics team suffered their second conference loss on Saturday. Despite opening the season with three straight wins in the Mid-American Conference, the Cardinals have now slipped to 3-2 in conference play.

Ball State traveled to Bowling Green to take on the host team, along with Eastern Michigan in a tri-meet. The Cardinal’s team score of 192.775 was bested by both opponents, giving Ball State a third-place finish. Bowling Green took first place after posting a 194.525. Eastern Michigan finished second with a score of 193.350.

Eastern Michigan did not count towards the team’s conference record, as they competed with Ball State earlier this season. They did however hand the Cardinals their fifth loss of the season, bringing them to 5-5 overall.

Ball State will wrap up their conference schedule on Friday against Kent State. The Cardinals then return to Irving Gym on Sunday, March 3 for their final home meet of the season against Kentucky.
