Ball State's home course advantage is proving useful so far.

The team sits in second place with a combined score of 738 in the Earl Yestingsmeier Invitational after two rounds of play on Saturday.

The tournament is being held at the Delaware Country Club as Ball State's lone home event of the 2011-12 season.

Louisville is one spot ahead for the lead with a 717.

Sophomore Tyler Merkel posted Ball State's best score at an even-par 140. He's tied for second.

Junior Brodie Williams is in fourth after shooting a three-over 143. Juniors Alex Stinson and Joe Gasser both hit the same score of a 12-over 152 to put themselves in a tie for 37th. Junior Tony Lazzara ended with a 17-over 158, good enough to put himself in a tie for 65th.
