WOMEN'S SWIMMING AND DIVING: Ball States earns academic award

Cardinals tie for 16th in the nation with a 3.38 GPA

The Ball State women's swimming and diving team was again honored as a Scholar All-America Program Team. For the 2011 fall semester, the College Swimming Coaches Association of America awarded the team for being a top academic program.

Ball State tied for 16th with a GPA of 3.38 out of 163 Division I schools that were recognized.

South Carolina was the top school with a GPA of 3.62.

Among those that tied with Ball State at 16th were Gardner-Webb, Northwestern, Ohio State, Alabama and
Mid-American Conference school Ohio.

The minimum GPA to be awarded by the CSCAA is a 3.0
