GYMNASTICS: Ball State places second in Kentucky

Cardinals lose to host Wildcats on Sunday

Ball State gymnastics went to Lexington, Ky., for a three-team meet and left with a second-place finish. The host Kentucky won the event while Ball State defeated George Washington.

The Cardinals score of 191.725 was enough to defeat the Colonials, but the Wildcat's score of 196.025 was enough to win the meet.

Junior Nicole Allen scored a first-place finish on the vault with a score of 9.850. In the all-around, Allen placed fourth with a 37.950 score. Sophomore Aftyn Siemer gave Ball State a third-place finish on vault with a 9.775 score while junior Morgan Coslow placed sixth with a score of 9.725.

Sophomore Angie Hosbach was Ball State's top finisher on bars earning a seventh place finish with a score of 9.725.

Freshman Brooklyn Schumacher placed eighth on the beam for Ball State with a score of 9.700, the team's top performer.

Ball State will return home on Thursday to compete against Pittsburgh at 7 p.m. at Irving Gym.
