WOMEN'S TENNIS: Johnson fully healthy as Ball State prepares for Cleveland State

Cardinals will play last home match until April 6

After a pair of disappointing losses to Chicago and Indiana over the weekend, the Ball State women's tennis team looks to rebound against Cleveland State this Friday.

The Vikings' last match was a 7-0 loss at home against Akron.

Senior Kylee Johnson, who missed the beginning of the season with a groin injury, has been productive in her return.

"I was just really hungry to come back," Johnson said. "I felt like the injury just made me really, really want to keep working hard to just get back out there and keep proving myself."

Johnson came the closest of any Ball State player to beating Indiana, losing in singles to Shannon Murdy 6-3, 6-2.

Friday's match will be the last home match for the Cardinals until April 6, when they return to Muncie in the middle of MAC play.

"(Being on the road) will be good for us," Johnson said. "I was excited, we've had a lot more home matches than we did last year, and Cleveland State is a really good team so it'll be a good test for us."

Cleveland State is 2-3 on the season.
