MEN'S BASKETBALL: Ball State hosts Taylor in exhibition

Exhibition is only tune up before season-opener

The Ball State men's basketball team opens up its 2011-12 season with an exhibition game against Taylor University at 7 tonight.

It is Ball State's first game since playing a 4-game foreign tour in Canada in August. The exhibition will be the only one this season for Ball State before its season-opener at Arizona on Sunday.

Freshmen Aaron Adeoye and Zeke Chapman along with sophomore transfer Tyler Koch will be making their debuts for the Cardinals in the exhibition. Ball State returns its five leading scorers from last season in senior Jarrod Jones, junior Jauwan Scaife, senior Randy Davis and sophomores Jesse Berry and Chris Bond.

Taylor posted a 15-15 record last season in NAIA Division II basketball.

The Cardinals were picked to finish second in the Mid-American Conference West Division behind Western Michigan University in the preseason polls released last week.

Ball State finished second in the West Division last season with a 19-13 record overall.
