Sophomore middle blocker Mindy Marx has been named the Mid-American Conference West Division Player of the Week for her play in the Spartan Invitational this past weekend.
Marx set a career-high with 10 blocks in Ball State's win over Sacred Heart on Saturday, which went into her 15 total blocks in the tournament.
Marx became the first Ball State player since Sept. 6, 2006 to record double-digit blocks with her new career-high.
It's the first MAC award of Marx's career and the first award Ball State has received this season.
Ball State returns home this Thursday and begins MAC play with a match against Toledo at 7 p.m. in Worthen Arena.
