Like the men's golf team losing Eric Steger, the women's golf faces a similar predicament this Fall.
The Cardinals will be without star player Brittany Kelly, who recently graduated.
In her place sits a group with no established number one player. There first chance at showing they can replace Kelly starts today in their season opening tournament hosted by Illinois State.
Katie Windlan returns to the team with the top overall average per 18 holes. But with a 79.17 average last year, she'll have to be counted on for lower scores as Ball State's top golfer.
The Ball State lineup will also feature returning players in junior Autumn Duke and sophomores Meghan Perry and Sarah Westaway. Freshmen Jenna Hague and Jamie Caylor have also joined the team.
The tournament's final round will conclude Sunday.
