It took 86 minutes for Ball State to score its first goal against Marshall on Friday and win in a dramatic fashion.

In Ball State's game against IPFW Sunday, the team preferred a faster start.

Freshman forward Jasmine Moses tallied her second goal of the season in the 9th minute, which proved to be the game winner. Ball State's 1-0 victory was its third win in a row.

Moses and freshman midfielder Ellie Chadick continued their strong play over the weekend as they hooked up for the lone goal. Chadick hit Moses with a ball through the IPFW defense and she beat the keeper far post for the goal.

"We took our opportunities well and consequently came out with the win," coach Craig Roberts said. "It was a well-earned victory for us."

IPFW used four yellow and one red card to try and throw off the Cardinals' attacking game plan.

After a hard foul on junior defender Brigit Reder at the end of the game, an IPFW player was ejected. The game was physical throughout, but Roberts said he was proud of how his team handled everything.

"We showed a lot of composure and consistency in what we needed to do," Roberts said. "We masked our identity well and didn't get swayed from our game."

IPFW was Ball State's final nonconference game of the season. The team travels to Kalamazoo, Michigan on Friday to take on Western Michigan.

Ball State is peaking just as Mid-American Conference play starts this Friday with a road game against Western Michigan. Roberts said the team is just starting to put all of game elements together.

"One thing we strive for is a complete performance and not giving up goals," Roberts said. "People stepped up for an overall performance, which we are happy to enter conference play with."
