FIELD HOCKEY: Cards hopes for repeat upset

Ball State takes on Indiana today

It was a night to remember. When Big Ten foe Indiana visited Muncie last season on Oct. 24, the Hoosiers were looking for an easy victory. Only to be shocked in double-overtime 2-1, while standing in awe as Ball State triumphed in victory.

The two teams will go head-to-head Saturday afternoon. The Hoosiers (2-0) are coming off a 3-2 overtime victory over Duke, while the Cardinals are still in search of their first victory.

It would make sense for the Cardinals to be on a mission to upset the Hoosiers once again.

However, coach Beth Maddox has a different perspective on the contest.

"We're a young team, so it's just about getting better each time you play," Maddox said. "It's getting experience, trying to figure out who plays well with who and where and what's going to get us ready for MAC [play]."

After dropping its first two games of the season last weekend, Ball State looks to rebound. Maddox is expecting more out of her team.

"I'm expecting people to fight harder," she said. "Hopefully all of the anxiety is gone. I'm expecting to see more confidence out of them."

Game time is set for noon.
