TRACK AND FIELD: Cardinals to compete in Dave Rankin Invitational at Purdue

Meet will start at 3 p.m. with hammer throw

The Ball State track and field team will compete Friday and Saturday at the Dave Rankin Invitational at Purdue University.

The meet kicks off at 3 p.m. Friday with the hammer throw. The cardinals have five athletes competing in the event: Emily Peregrine, Jorden Traver, Elizabeth Flinner, Jordan Puckett and Lywanna Melvin.

Shot put will feature Kate Krull and Melissa Dodaro.

Thekla Lorenz will be competing with Alyssa Hurlburt in the long jump event.

High jump will include Kelsey Jackson and Rebecca Lomax. Lomax is currently ranked third in the Mid-American Conference. 

The four Cardinal discus throwers include Jorden Traver, Lywanna Melvin, Krull and Dodaro.

Triple Jump will include Megan Cherry and Hurburt jumping.

Running in the 5,000-meter run will be Madeline Goheen, MaryKate Mellen and Allison Blanck.

The team of Judah Smith, Janae Taylor, Lomax and Lorenz will be running in the 4x100 this weekend.

Esther Tirado, Emilee Zets and Tiffany Cange will be taking part in the 1,500-meter run.

Both RaJae Marable and Lorenz will run the 100-meter hurdle event.

Running one lap around the track will be Smith and Hannah Lange in the 400-meter dash.

Taylor, Marable and Lomax will run the 100-meter dash.

Running two laps around the track will be Christine Talhelm, Zets and Cange in the 800-meter run.

The 200-meter run features four Cardinals Taylor, Smith, Lorenz and Lange.

Ball State will be running two different 4x400 teams. The first will consist of Lange, Taylor, Lorenz and Smith. The second team will consist of Talhelm, Cange, Zets and Esther Tirado.
