Despite cold and windy weather, the Ball State track and field team tallied 11 top-10 finishes at the Dave Rankin Invitational at Purdue University Saturday.
Ball State's 4x100 relay team placed fourth with a time of 47.90. Members of the team included Rebecca Lomax, Judah Smith, Thekla Lorenz and Janae Taylor.
Lomax also placed fourth in high jump and tenth in the 100-meter dash.
Taylor placed fifth in the 100-meter dash.
In the 400-meter dash, Smith placed fourth with a time of 57.08.
Lorenz placed fifth in long jump, seventh in the 200-meter dash and ninth in the 100-meter hurdles. Smith, who also ran in the 200-meter dash, placed fifth.
MaryKate Mellen completed the 5,000-meter run, placing sixth with a time of 18:05.55.
In the javelin throw, Jorden Traver placed ninth.
Ball State heads to Ohio State for the Jesse Owens Classic this coming Friday.
