MEN'S GOLF: Ball State back in competition

Cardinals head to Missouri for Columbia Ortopedic Mizzou Tournament

After a brief break from competition, the Ball State men's golf team begin play today in the Columbia Orthopedic Mizzou Tournament in Columbia, Mo.

This is the Cardinals' first match since the Rio Pinar Invitational two weeks ago in Orlando, Fla.

Joining Ball State in the tournament are Mid-American Conference foes Northern Illinois, Eastern Michigan and Toledo. Fellow Indiana school IUPUI will also compete.

Leading the lineup for Ball State is senior Eric Steger, followed by freshman Tyler Merkel, sophomores Joe Gasser and Alex Stinson and junior TJ Carpenter.

All 16 teams in the tournament will play through 36 holes today and the final 18 Tuesday. Play is set to start at 8 a.m. today.
