Following Ball State's 37-30 double overtime victory against Akron on Saturday, two Cardinals earned Mid-American Conference West Player of the Week honors, the league office announced Monday.
Wide receiver Jack Tomlinson was named MAC West Offensive Player of the Week and kicker Ian McGarvey was named MAC West Special Teams Player of the Week.
Tomlinson caught three touchdowns and had 175 receiving yards, the 12th highest single-game total in Ball State history. McGarvey was three-for-three on field goal attempts, and kicked four extra points.
Tomlinson and McGarvey are the first Cardinals to win the conference's weekly honors since defensive end Robert Eddins was named Defensive Player of the Week a month ago.
